The Department of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise (HNFE) in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech (www.vt.edu) is seeking applicants for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate to coordinate a two-year NIH-funded research project investigating the role of microRNAs in energy balance and obesity. This is a collaborative project involving the Departments of HNFE, Biochemistry in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Department of Biological Sciences , in the College of Science at Virginia Tech.
The project will use molecular biology, proteomics and bioinformatics to examine the role of a small non-coding RNAs in regulating gene expression following food deprivation and food intake in order to identify new mechanisms controlling gene and protein expression in the brain.
